We’re back! Join Rick and the Becky-nator for a new season of Paying Ridiculous Attention to Jesus—Episode 1 of Season 9 – “Kindness for Broken People” – a continuation of the series “THE WAYS OF JESUS.” Here Rick and Becky explore themes drawn from his new book Editing Jesus. In this episode they continue “reverse-engineering” back from Jesus—that means we adjust our “operating system” in life by starting with Jesus, then working back into our priorities, values, and choices. In this episode we explore the difference between “nice” and “kind” in the words and actions of Jesus. Jesus is always kind but only sporadically nice. His kindness must address our brokenness, and we don’t really understand how broken we are. His way of living and relating stretches the boundaries of our imagination. His kindness supersedes our expectations. Because we crave His kindness, let’s invite Jesus to stretch those boundaries…

In this episode we talked about Becky’s “other” podcast project, co-hosted by her friend Steph. It’s called Orderly, and you can find it here: mentioned Rick’s book Sifted: God’s Scandalous Response to Satan’s Outrageous Demand. And here’s a short (15 minutes) interview that Randy Robison of Life Today did with Rick—it’s a great overview/primer on the message of Editing Jesus, buried in an interesting conversation: https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/life-today-live-on/twisted-scripture-rick-pmYPAcw2xMD/

This engaging devotional experience starts with Jesus at the center, so you can focus on building a relationship with him on a daily basis in a more doable way. These daily devotions won’t just help you think about your relationship with Jesus in a new way, but they’ll also help you come to know him as a close friend. He’s not content to sit on the sidelines. He doesn’t want to be compartmentalized to church on Sunday or your morning devotion time. He wants to be right there with you, walking side by side.
