I loved when you guys talked about Aaron is discipleship small group oriented and Kurt is big event traffic flow oriented. I believe it was Dave Ramsey that said one time in a marriage relationship situation, “One is a spender and one is a saver you need both”. So the key is to bring balance.

This is where I need to grow more as a pastor in youth ministry, and where God is helping me to involve other leaders in my life. Where I am weak my other leaders are strong and vice versa.

At the same time I do not believe people who are better than me in certain areas are a replacement for my personal growth in weak areas. I do need to focus on building my strengths, but also need to develop my weaknesses in case I am ever put in a situation that requires them.

I heard a great message one time by Pastor Steven Furtick on “Dumb Dichotomies” where his main point talks all about this. Its not just small groups and its not just big events, it is both. In a sense one can not exist without the other.

    Producing Healthy Growth
Organic and Organization: One can not exist without the other
Growth and pain: Once can not exist without the other

Thanks so much for your guys great insight.

    • Hey Ben,
Thanks so much for the feedback. You said it perfectly “We need Both” and “that does not exempt us from strengthening the area we’re weak. Good stuff”.
