UNASSIGNED

Plunge your teenagers into a service project that stretches their faith.

Divide into groups (include one adult for each group), give each one $50, and send them into different neighborhoods. Challenge teenagers to survey their assigned neighborhood and decide as a group how they’ll serve that community and how they’ll use the money to that end. Some of our teenagers even added their own money to the pot.

When we did this, one group called a pastor and purchased groceries for a needy family, and another purchased supplies necessary to clean a local park.

Afterward, get together and share stories about each group’s experience.
