Love it! I wonder if they caught the spelling error around the 1 minute mark. “hurch” instead of “church.” Anyway…still great stuff!

    Cool video!

The only thing I want to comment on is: I think giving is about God, the individual, AND the church community, not just what’s going inside someone’s heart. As the video says, Jim felt more connected to the church, so giving involves the church. Too bad giving can stir up images of ladies with big hair, haha.

As 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (ESV).

1%, 10% or whatever, it’s up to the individual (and God).

I like this video. I saw video similar to this in which it said if everyone in said church would just give 1% it would like quaddruple their church budget. It’s said that abou 20% of your regular faithful person gives. And in our world now it’s buy food and gas or tithe. I think the process towards obedience starts at 1% and should push 10% or beyond. If you have never given before then take the step towards obedience. The tithe is spoken of in scripture, and from what I can tell….according to what is said…it is holy, and it makes us holy (not holier than thou) when we take the process towards obedience.

Nick. remember the point of the context is generosity, not give whatever you like: (The rest of the ESV passage) 6The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, 13 they will glorify God because of…the generosity of your contribution.
