This post is from the church of my friend, John Mulholland. Long-time YP, he’s just begun serving as FP at this IL church.  Love what they’re doing for this Sunday. http://bit.ly/K4Myp9

So here are my questions for you, my fellow small church peeps: What would your church say about this?  What if this were EVERY Sunday? Pro’s/con’s?

I really want to know since I’ve heard all versions of this, especially for the summer time…which is another topic for another day.

  • We do something similar once a week. I will share this story with our children’s pastor because would be a great opportunity to hand the parents material to help with their weekly time of family worship. We are missing a great chance to empower parents to be the spiritual leaders of their children!

  • That’s me in the green shirt, far right, with some high school students on our Colorado Week of Hope last year. Thought I’d post two comments from parents regarding this past Sunday’s Family Sunday:

“I wanted to thank you for the children’s service… I loved seeing the lightbulbs go on for my kids today…I’m really looking forward to more opportunities to fellowship with my kids at church. We’re pulled in so many directions the other 6 days of the week it’s nice to see that NCC is prioritizing bringing families together.”

“It was nice to have a Family Sunday and have the kids up there for a bit.”

    FTW!
