Put yourself first.

Whoa. Wait. The Bible tells us not to be selfish.

Well, obviously I’m not telling you to be selfish. I’m telling you to put yourself first. To teach the Word we must be fully saturated in it, satisfied with it, and overflowing with joy from it. In ministry, the most important thing you can do is feed yourself. Kids will see when a pastor is living what he’s teaching.
Before you check your emails; before you make any phone calls; before you even start preparing for your lesson, feed yourself. The most important part in ministry is being a man of God. And that’s how you lead.
