General Ministry

Tony Myles is a youth ministry veteran, author, speaker, volunteer youth worker and lead pastor of Connection Church in Medina, Ohio... and he really likes smoothies.

frozenThere is no shortage of parodies surrounding the movie “Frozen.”

You’ve likely seen your share.

I apologize for sharing another one.

The leadership team at this church came together to create their own, all related to a pastor who is working on his sermon and won’t come out of his study.

Cheesy? Sure.

Unnecessary? Perhaps.

I do have a few questions of my own, though:

  • How do you think the church reacted after seeing this on a Sunday?
  • Why?
  • What in your church/ministry could elicit a similar reaction?

My opinion? Without knowing this church, I see a snapshot of leaders who love doing life together. Everyone got involved… and I can only assume you felt that, too. I wonder how they’re nurturing that.

Any applications or desires for your ministry?

I imagine the people in the church responded with laughter and joy. I would also assume their guard was let down and they were able to worship more freely (assuming this was shown at a worship service). I too got the feeling that the staff would be a fun group to be around, doing life together and enjoying one another. And when “the people” see that demonstrated, they mirror that in their own lives.

Your second question raises a great point. One of the things my wife and I are committed to this next year is building community within our volunteer team so that we can draw closer together in the spiritual discipline of fun, and more importantly, build trust with one another so that we can work as a unit as we do the “work” of the ministry.

Hi Ray, I attend Christ Wesleyan where this video was produced. Our church is amazing and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful pastoral team. Our lead pastor, Pastor Arlie is the best my husband and I have ever served under. All the staff work together as a cohesive team and truly care for all the people that come through their doors every week. The number one goal of our church is to reach lost souls. God is blessing our church in so many ways. Thank you for acknowledging our Pastor and his staff.
