Ask kids to write down the names of all the animals they remember are in a box or bag of animal crackers. Then give kids bags of animal crackers, and have them note which ones they got right or wrong. Then ask: Do you usually look at animal crackers before eating them?
Explain. Which could you best describe — the outside of the box or the crackers inside? Explain. Is this anything like your familiarity with the Bible? Why or why not? Can you recall specific Scripture passages that offer help, encouragement, or challenge for issues you face in everyday life?
Have you ever offered biblical help to a friend in need? If so, how? If not, why not? Then ask your students to brainstorm ideas on how to find time to read God’s Word during their busy days.
