You've may have heard a little bit about twitter lately. In fact, we here at YouthMinistry.com are big fans, and we would love for you to join us in using this new communication tool. But what is it? Well in short, it's sending a text message (140 characters) to all your friends at the same time

You've may have heard a little bit about twitter lately. In fact, we here at YouthMinistry.com are big fans, and we would love for you to join us in using this new communication tool.

The cool part is your friends can decide how they want to receive it. Maybe they will only read it on the computer, maybe it will come in their IM client, or maybe they'll have it come to their phone like a traditional text message. It's an easy way to share with your friends what you are up to as you are doing it.

How do you get started?

1. Go to Twitter.com and click "Get Started - Join!"
2. Then create your account on the account page.
3. Then find people to follow? To follow someone go to their page and click the follow button under their picture.

I love the community feel that twitter has. I feel so much closer to a lot of people that I don't get to see that often, but I still know what's going on in their lives. A lot of my twitter friends were all at a wedding this weekend, and we all remarked about cool it was to keep up on the everyday happenings in each others lives. Thanks Twitter!

I've been on Twitter for close to two months now and to be honest I think it's one of those things that you respond to as you build more and more of a stronger network. Right now, I only have a handful of friends from work. But I'd like to keep it going though.
